July 2022 — Stow, Ohio — ACRT Services, Inc. (ACRT Services), a leading provider of independent consulting solutions to utilities and associated organizations throughout the United States, is pleased to announce that it has acquired ecological consulting firm EnviroScience, Inc. (EnviroScience) of Stow, Ohio. This move strengthens ACRT Services’ solution offerings and provides EnviroScience with a national market for its expertise and services.
“EnviroScience is no stranger to our organization. Both companies started in Northeast Ohio during the 1980s, crossing paths more than once. We’ve partnered over the years on projects that complemented each other and even offered space for some of EnviroScience’s team to work in the early years of our companies. Our like-minded passion for empowering people and our communities is what led us to add them to our family of brands,” says ACRT Services chief executive officer Michael Weidner.
EnviroScience evolved as it grew from a lab to a consulting firm supporting the environmental design and regulatory requirements servicing governments, industrial, engineering, and private clients. Their highly trained biologists, scientists, engineers, and divers offer a wide range of natural resource, engineering, and environmental services including aquatic surveys, wetland delineations, terrestrial surveys, lake management, ecological mitigation, laboratory analysis, stormwater management, and endangered species surveys. In addition, they proactively provide environmental legislation analysis, up-to-date technology, and biomonitoring services.
“ACRT Services is 100% employee-owned and our employees are eager to be part of this employee-focused organization. We found a home with an organization that shares our same core values and commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and client solutions,” stated Jamie Krejsa, president, at EnviroScience.
As part of the acquisition, EnviroScience will join the ACRT Services family of companies and will retain its name.
ACRT Services offers expert independent consulting solutions to utilities and associated organizations throughout the United States, including vegetation management consulting, ecological consulting, arborist training, customized safety courses, technology solutions, utility metering services, and more. ACRT Services supports four wholly-owned subsidiaries — EnviroScience, Bermex, ACRT Pacific, and ACRT. To learn more about ACRT Services, visit services.acrt.com.
Utility providers are on the front lines of sustainability, and leak detection is one of their most powerful tools. The United States loses an estimated 6 billion gallons of treated water every day, along with the energy and resources used to process it. Gas utilities face similar challenges with methane emissions, creating both environmental risks and financial losses. Modern programs use GIS, mobile detection, district metering, and acoustic technology to find leaks quickly and accurately. Digital reporting ensures accountability, compliance, and long-term planning. Bermex helps utilities turn leak detection into a core part of sustainable operations that protect resources, customers, and the environment.
